How to give your Solana token a vanity address

What is a vanity address on Solana?

Every token has an address, normally a random string of letters and digits. A vanity address is one that starts or ends with characters you chose, like a prefix "orb" or a suffix "Star". It works exactly like any other address; it is just easier to recognise and harder to confuse with a copycat. Once your token is created, the address can never change.

How much does a vanity address cost?

It depends on length. 1 to 2 characters are free, 3 cost 0.1 SOL and 4 cost 0.2 SOL, on top of the token price. The search runs on your own device, so the time is an estimate: each extra character makes a match about 58 times rarer. Ready-made addresses were generated in advance by us, cost 0.2 SOL and need no search; each one is used only once.

How do I add a vanity address to my token?

   Start a token as usual

   Open Create token and fill in the details, logo and safety options. The custom address is an extra on the same form, not a separate product.

   Open Extras and find Custom address

   At the bottom of the form, open Extras (optional). Below the description and social links is the Custom address section, with a Prefix field (address starts with this) and a Suffix field (address ends with this).

   Type your characters, or pick a ready-made address

   You can fill in the prefix, the suffix or both. Together they can't be longer than 4 characters; typing past that shortens the other field. Each field checks for characters Solana addresses can't contain.

   • Allowed: letters and digits except zero (0), capital o (O), capital i (I) and lowercase L (l)
   • Case matters: "Star" and "star" are different addresses
   • Choose a ready-made prefix or suffix to skip the search (+0.20 SOL). Picking one clears the other field

   Check the preview and the price

   Once you type something, a preview shows what your address will look like, the expected search time and the extra cost. The total on the Create button updates to include it.

   Create and keep the tab open

   Press Create. Your browser searches for a matching address first, then your wallet asks you to approve the transaction. Keep the page open during the search; for 4 characters it can take several minutes.

   • Nothing is charged during the search. You only pay when you approve the transaction
   • If you close the page before approving, nothing happens and you can try again

Is a vanity address worth it?

It is cosmetic: it doesn't change how your token works or how safe it is. What it does is make the address easier to recognise when people paste it into a wallet, an explorer or a DEX, and easier to tell apart from a copycat token with the same name. If you share your token address often, a short prefix or suffix that matches your symbol is a cheap way to make it yours. If not, skip it.
